Stop Dump Site 41 protest/rally - Steve Ogden speaks

Stop Dump Site 41 protest/rally - Steve Ogden speaks Tube. Duration : 4.65 Mins.

July 25th 2009 - facing a 0000 injunction served by the city of Barrie, protesters are camped (legally) across from Dump Site 41 to protest the dumping of wastes which threaten to contaminate the drinking water of hundreds of thousands of people throughout Ontario. Furthermore, the approval of the dump stands as a gross violation of the rights of First Nations who were not consulted despite the dump affecting three reserves. A rally was held in a nearby community centre, with speakers David Crombie (former Mayor), Steve Ogden (activist and public interest leader) and Maude Barlow (Council of Canadians).
